Case Study
Mars Hill Bible Church

What was going on
Situation
Mars Hill is a church that faced tremendous growth since its inception in 1999, so much so that it has been deemed the fastest growing church in US history.
Because this growth happened so fast there was virtually no communication strategy, systems or processes to help unify the organization’s employees, volunteers and community into much more than a Sunday gathering.
While Mars Hill had a distinct personality on Sunday there had been very little work done to translate that into a more meaningful and engaging brand that could extend Mars Hill’s presence beyond the weekly gathering.
What we did
Solutions
We helped Mars Hill identify and define who they were communicating with, then implemented operational methods and protocols for how the staff would communicate to their audiences. In addition, we also created a system for logging communications activites so that we could see the most pressing issues facing any one group at a glance.
We also performed an audit of all the materials that are published by Mars Hill and applied standards and style guides to how everything, from internal forms and fax cover sheets to photography and rich media content would be handled. Our work ensures consistency for anyone who comes into contact with Mars Hill.
By centralizing administrative processes for sales, donations, event registration, media downloads and subscriptions for all ministries, we were able to improve the efficiency of operations and reduce redundancies in workflow.
